Netball Now – Terms & Conditions
1. Participation & Safety
1.1 Minimum Age: The standard minimum age for participation is 16 years old.
1.2 Junior Players (Ages 14–15): Players aged 14 and 15 may participate only if a parent or legal guardian is present at the venue for the duration of the session/match. The parent/guardian remains responsible for the minor at all times.
1.3 Conduct: All players and spectators must uphold good sportsmanship. The umpire’s decision is final. Any threatening, abusive, or discriminatory behavior (including by parents/spectators) will result in an immediate permanent ban from the league without refund.
1.4 Arrival: Teams must arrive 10 minutes before the scheduled start. Matches start promptly; warm-ups should be completed beforehand.
1.5 Health & Risk: Participants acknowledge that netball is a physical sport and accept the associated risks. By playing, you warrant that you (or the minor you are responsible for) are physically fit to participate.
1.6 Attire: For safety, nails must be short, jewelry removed or securely taped, and appropriate sports footwear worn. Netball Now reserves the right to prevent participation if attire is deemed unsafe.
2. Team Composition & Guest Players
2.1 Minimum Numbers: A minimum of 5 players is required for a match to proceed.
2.2 Guest Players: Guests may fill in for absent members but must play in a different position than their usual one and be approved at the umpire’s discretion.
2.3 Transition to Membership: If a guest player participates in more than one match (for any team), they must register and set up a monthly membership to continue playing.
2.4 League Balance: Netball Now reserves the right to move individual players or guest players between teams to ensure league competitiveness and parity. This is at the organiser's discretion to ensure all matches remain viable.
3. Registration & Membership Fees
3.1 The Contract: Netball Now is a subscription-based service. By signing up, you enter into a rolling monthly contract.
3.2 Registration Fee: A £5 non-refundable fee is required at signup. This covers administrative onboarding and your first scheduled game. If you miss this first game, the fee is forfeited and does not roll over.
3.3 Membership: Following your first game, a monthly membership fee is required to continue. This covers match participation, umpires, equipment, and league administration.
3.4 Bank Holidays: Membership fees are averaged annually; monthly fees remain unchanged during months with Bank Holidays or scheduled league breaks.

4.1 Standard Notice: To cancel a membership after the initial 14-day statutory period (see Section 11), players must provide one full paying month’s notice.

5. Payment & Non-Payment
5.1 Automated Billing: Membership fees must be paid in full via our designated automated payment system.
5.2 Failed Payments: If a payment fails, your membership and league participation will be suspended immediately until the balance is cleared.
5.3 Arrears: Continued non-payment may result in permanent removal from the league and potential recovery action for outstanding fees.
6. Injury & Membership Freezing
6.1 Eligibility: Memberships may only be frozen for verified medical injuries preventing play for 2+ consecutive weeks.
6.2 Process: Freeze requests must be submitted in writing. We reserve the right to request proof (e.g., a GP/Physio note).

6.4 Timing: The freeze begins from the next payment date. Retrospective refunds are not provided.
7. League Continuity, Postponements & Venue Changes
7.1 Session Adaptation: Netball Now reserves the right to organize training sessions or clinics if full team numbers cannot be achieved. No refunds apply for non-attendance.
7.2 Venue Changes: While we aim to play at the same venue each week, Netball Now reserves the right to move matches to an alternative suitable venue within a 5-mile radius of the original location. Such a change does not constitute a breach of contract or entitle a member to a refund.
7.3 Postponements: If 4+ matches are postponed by Netball Now within a 4-month period due to unforeseen circumstances, members may be eligible for a pro-rata credit or partial refund. Requests must be submitted within two weeks of the fourth postponement.
